It wasn't until about character year 4 of the game that we first got a Wyld Hunt dropped on us, and we got enough of a heads up from a friendly Gold Star that we were able to wreck the poor bastards. YMMV - our game was Romance of the Hundred Kingdoms, and taking a year to sit at the home manse and organize up a small army of scholars wasn't met with overwhelming Wyld Hunt forces. At E4 you can hit 500ish people iirc, which is a pretty good start. Once that's done, you can leave and have it be the mortals/d-bloods jobs to maintain the gears. HAM is a bit slow, I agree, but it does a great job of getting the first two or three generations of people up to speed. Not saying that it doesn't have a place in the quiver, just that it's a very specialized set of arrows. The socialize tree has always seemed to me more of a tool of keeping the neighboring empires pacified until it's their turn to be annexed, and keeping those neighbors from presenting a unified front against you. Short story, Linguistics for the win man, put POSTERS everywhere if you want recurring loyalty makers. I'd do summaries of the Linguistics and Bureaucracy Charms, but I'm runnin' outta time. Anything really, you just look for help and you find yourself in charge of a group of seemingly willing followers that you just need to keep daily control over. Jeez, same with Gathering the Congregation, which is whenever you need a group of people to do something for you. When you want them to be happy, joy is everywhere.Īll three of these are I suppose the very beginnings of what Social Socialize Charms should be like. When you wish them to know fear, they know fear. You can make the people share any emotion you have. Essentially it's like a vampire's high level Presence, and I mean the 6+ high levels cause it can effect a large group. Better for being the effective leader, with rousing speeches and such. Wild Revelry Approach - Seemingly less long-term effective, Wild Revelry Approach is like the same thing as WECM and TID above, only it creates an emotion affect instead of an Illusion or a Compulsion. This is really flexible, and is only Soc 3, Essence 2 with no Charm Prerequisites for either. Make any actions or believes you disfavor taboo. Define codes of honour or social strictures. Rewrite their religious laws to suit your taste. or the Dead, or Demons, or weird types of Exalted. Perhaps that Fair Folk can be integrated into society. Perhaps that The Realm and the Scarlet Dynasty are monsters who upset the balance of Creation with the Usurption. Perhaps that honouring Solar Exalted ensures a favorable reincarnation. Wise Eyed Courtier Method and Taboo Inflicting Diatribe - make your project society believe anything in particular you want.
